Frankoma pottery, named for its creator John Frank, opened in 1933 in Norman, Oklahoma. His wife, Grace Lee Frank worked with him in the pottery studio and created many of their advertising items such as art vases, birds and limited edition plates. Frank died in 1973. Grace followed in 1996. A businessman named Richard Bernstein bought the Frankoma pottery in 1991. It is still in operation today.
